Wrecking Ball.

© 2008 Gary Eisenbraun.

You sold me down the river,
‘cause I ain’t what you need.
You’re only happy when you see
my pride get knocked out in the street.
The faith that I had in you,
it seems like a disguise.
Drowned like a sinkin’ ship
that hides behind your eyes.

For you and whatcha gonna do.
You’re just a wrecking ball,
to tell me that we’re through.

It’s just a miracle to believe that you exist.
I’m just the fool who could never resist.
I make my stand but it’s a little too late.
It brings you joy when you see I have to wait.

Wouldn’t let me see there’s another way out.
Playin’ with my mind ‘til it’s locked up in doubt.
Wanted to get better but instead I see the worst.
Don’t care who’s lonely as long as you come first.
