Mystery Rider.

© 2008 Gary Eisenbraun.

It makes me wonder,
what time can erase?
I’ve wrecked all my chances
of ever saving face.
I feel vibrations
of another changing tide.
You bring me sorrow,
that’s wallowing inside.

You have your reasons,
it’s more than I got.
I feel like crying baby,
it’s breaking my heart.
You take my freedom,
to a place I can’t conceive.
Mystery rider,
in fools you believe.

You take the hard line,
don’t care about the cost.
I need some answers,
for the time that I’ve lost.
Strange fascination
that conquers my pride.
I’m so guilty
for the wool in my eyes.

Time spent alone,
it brings me back
to what it’s like to feel pain.
What you do.
What you do.
What you do.
What you do.

I can see it in your eyes,
unaffected by the shame inside.
When you feel like going home.
Burned by the truth of it,
you’re the one who’s gotta go.

Leads down a highway
that never finds an end.
Colossal frustration,
my world to defend.
For the space you neglect,
it means a lot to me.
An empty promise
manufactured by your greed.

I’m givin’ in
with no way to justify.
A storm is brewing
behind the walls that you hide.
Face down in silence,
in the fear I must hold.
Source of mistrust,
the warning I been told.
