The Very Best of Otis Redding.
One of the truly shocking things in music history is the output of Otis Redding. He was only 26 years old when he passed, yet
in a very short time created a staggering body of work. His career began in 1962 with "These arms of mine" and lasted
all the way through a posthumous release of "Dock Of The Bay" in 1968. Five years and 31 records that charted on the R
& B charts. "Change Is Gonna Come," "You Made A Man Out Of Me," "I'm A Changed Man," "It's
Growing," and "Think About It" demonstrate awesome phrasing and deliver a REALness. The Stax players, (Steve Cropper,
Duck Dunn, Booker T, and Al Jackson) were SO good and between them created something greater than the sum of their parts. They were
fantastic...but Otis Redding was a gift from god. You can honestly say EVERYTHING he did was good. And that's rare.
